A surveyor walks into a store with a phone. They need to photograph a shelf, answer twenty questions, and get to the next call — often on one bar of signal or none. Stedica Surveys is the WordPress plugin for that job: build by dragging questions into sections, publish with a shortcode, a Gutenberg block or an Elementor widget, and read the results in your own dashboard.
Responses are stored in your own database. Offline capture queues answers on the respondent's device with no connection and syncs them when signal returns, and the Offline Sync Monitor shows you what is still queued and what has landed.
The free plugin is complete on its own
Nothing in the free plugin is time-limited, capped, or switched off pending a purchase. Offline capture, Excel export, cross-tabulation and Net Promoter Score are all free — competitors commonly gate at least one of those.
There are three separate paid products, and none of them is required to run a survey. Each is licensed on its own and each offers a 7-day trial with no payment details.

The two add-ons run on the free plugin and do not need Premium: a site can buy Data Sources and never touch Premium. A Premium licence does not cover the add-ons, and an add-on licence does not cover Premium — they are three independent purchases. What is available is decided by what is installed: an add-on you have not bought is simply absent from the free plugin, not dangled at you behind a lock.

Premium owns two tables of its own and carries no builder, renderer or results table — it extends the free plugin. When a licence or trial expires it behaves as though it were deactivated and an admin notice says so. No data is deleted and no table is dropped, so everything already collected stays yours to read, export and analyse. What stops is capture going forward: a survey can no longer collect through Premium functionality. Every survey and response keeps working through the free plugin.

Keeping responses trustworthy
- Spam protection — a hidden decoy field, a submission-timing check and a per-connection rate limit. No CAPTCHA, nothing sent to any third party, and nothing for the respondent to do.
- One response per person — by WordPress account, by browser, or by network address.
- Response cap — close the survey automatically at a set number.
- Anonymous responses — do not record which account submitted.
- Response quality flags for submissions finished far faster than the survey's own median, or with every scale question answered identically. Flags, not verdicts: nothing is hidden or excluded.

Notifying

GPS coordinates are read through the browser's Geolocation API after the respondent accepts an in-page consent prompt, and are stored only in your own database. When a Premium map is displayed, only the tile coordinates for the visible area are sent to OpenStreetMap.

Questions, answered
Is the free plugin really complete?
Yes. Nothing in it is time-limited, capped, or switched off pending a purchase. Unlimited surveys and questions, all 17 question types, offline capture, Excel export, cross-tabulation, Net Promoter Score and drop-off analysis are all in the free plugin. Competitors commonly gate at least one of those.
Do the add-ons need Premium?
No — and this is the part that is easiest to get wrong. All three paid products run on the free plugin. A site can buy the Data Sources add-on and never touch Premium. Each is licensed separately: a Premium licence does not cover the add-ons, and an add-on licence does not cover Premium.
What does Premium actually add?
The location layer: a GPS Capture question type, a geo intelligence map, a territory performance dashboard, KPI definitions with a leaderboard and risk alerts, a live scorecard for the respondent, and a Power BI feed. It extends the free plugin and carries no builder or results table of its own.
What happens if a licence lapses?
You do not lose your data. Everything captured through Premium or an add-on stays in your own database and remains yours to read, export and analyse. The product itself behaves as though it were deactivated, and an admin notice says so — what you cannot do is keep capturing with that functionality going forward. Your surveys and every response continue to work through the free plugin.
