Moves the counting to the moment of capture
Field teams take shelf photos, and someone then sits down and counts what is in them. This add-on moves that step to the moment the photo is taken: the respondent shoots a cooler or shelf, and the survey answer comes back with brand, product name and SKU per item, front-facing counts, and each brand's share of total facings.
Photo capture uses the camera and upload flow already in the free plugin, so there is no second capture interface to configure. Because model output needs checking, every Product Recognition and Image Recognition run is written to an audit log with the prompt that was sent and the full raw API response.

Three question types
- Product Recognition — products and front-facing counts from a shelf photo, with brand, product name and SKU per item, plus each brand's share of total facings. Runs on OpenAI Vision or your own YOLO detection endpoint.
- Image Recognition — a one-to-three sentence factual caption of any photo, with a per-question prompt override.
- Image Comparison — the respondent's photo matched against up to five reference images attached to the question, using perceptual hashing with optional Vision verification.

- Every Product Recognition and Image Recognition run is written to an audit log with the prompt that was sent and the full raw API response.
- Each run is reviewable and markable Correct or Incorrect in the admin.
- A usage screen reports token counts and estimated spend from your own price table.

There is no bundled inference credit. Older free cores strip the YOLO settings from a survey when it is saved, which is why the endpoint mode needs 4.2.6 while the rest of the add-on runs from 3.5.3. Previously published as "Stedica Shelf AI Analysis" and renamed in v3.0.0 — sites still running the old plugin should deactivate it, as the two cannot run side by side.

Do I need Stedica Surveys Premium as well?
No. This add-on runs on the free Stedica Surveys plugin, version 3.5.3 or newer. Premium is a separate purchase that covers something else entirely, and it is not required here. Each product is licensed on its own.
Who pays for the AI?
You do. You supply your own OpenAI API key and OpenAI bills you directly — there is no inference credit bundled into the licence. The usage screen reports token counts and an estimated spend from your own price table so you can see what a run costs.
Can I use my own model instead of OpenAI?
Yes. Point a Product Recognition question at your own YOLO detection endpoint. That mode needs free core 4.2.6 or newer, because older versions strip the YOLO settings from a survey when it is saved. You host and operate the inference service.
How do I know the model got it right?
You check it, and the add-on is built for that. Every Product Recognition and Image Recognition run keeps the prompt that was sent and the full raw API response, and you mark each one Correct or Incorrect in the admin. Reviewed results can then be exported as a dataset or as a YOLO training-prep package.
What happens when my licence or trial expires?
The add-on behaves as though it were deactivated. Results already captured, the audit log and your exports stay in your database for you to analyse — nothing is deleted. What stops is new analysis: those question types no longer process incoming photos until the licence is renewed. The free Stedica Surveys plugin carries on unaffected, and because each product is licensed separately an expiry here touches nothing else.
